Click the course link from your home page or Course tab to see your course home page.
This page, like most of the course pages in Blackboard 9, are divided into modules.
A module is an isolated unit of content that can be edited and arranged separately from the other modules.
Work with modules on the home page (or a group's home page)
Modules on this page are completely separate boxes with a header bar at the top.
These modules can be rearranged easily by clicking on the header bar and dragging to a new location.
Hovering on the header bar of a module makes icons visible that allow you to:
close the module,
collapse/expand it,
open it in a new window,
or for some modules, edit the module settings.
Adding/Deleting Modules
Click the Add Course Module button.
This will take you to the Add Module page, where you can see a list of modules that are available.
Click the add button to add a new module,
OR click the Remove button to take an unwanted module off the home page.
When you are finished, click OK at the bottom of the page.
Work with modules on the Information, Content, and Discussion pages.
On these pages, each item added to the page (e.g. through the Build Content, Assign Textbook, Create Forum, and similar buttons) is housed in its own module, which are all listed on the page.
These modules display relevant information about the item and can be rearranged by:
Hovering on the module,
Clicking the arrow icon that appears on the left side of the module
Dragging to a new place in the list.
Use the Edit Mode Note: This mode does NOT show you exactly what your students see, for that see below for Student Preview Mode.
If you want to see what your students would see on a particular page of the course (without the ability to edit settings) you may toggle the Edit Mode.
To do this, simply click the switch at the top right corner of the Blackboard page.
Edit Mode will switch off, and you will see your pages as a student would see them.
To continue making changes to the page, click the toggle again, and Edit Mode will turn back on.
Use Student Preview Mode This mode allows you to see what your students will see, and allows you to do assignments and assessments with a dummy account. You can then either delete or keep the information to use at a later date.
To enter Student Preview Mode, click the eye icon next to the Edit Mode icon, as seen below.
You will now be able to interact with your course as a student would.
To turn Student Preview Mode off, simply click the Exit Preview button.
